What do I need to bring to my session?

You need to bring goggles and swimmers. If you have long hair, a swim cap is a good idea too. We have a Personal Swimming swim cap for you. We will bring swimming materials such as flippers, kickboards and pull buoys to the session.

Do I need to bring a wetsuit?

A (swimming) wetsuit and a swim cap help you stay warm in the cooler months, but are not a prerequisite (although most people wear a wetsuit from June-late November). We are happy to give advice for buying a wetsuit.

What if I cannot make my session?

Please let us know via phone or text (on 04-27028611) as soon as possible. We can reschedule the session if you let us know 24 hours or more in advance. Within 24 hours we will charge $25 cancellation fee. If you have booked a 10-session term pass for the group sessions and cannot make it, you are welcome to join another group session during that week.

Will the lessons be cancelled due to adverse weather?

Swimming outdoors means that sometimes we have to be flexible. In the event of huge surf, thunderstorms or poor water quality the session will be rescheduled. Huge surf: we will discuss to either reschedule to another day, or do the session in a rockpool. Thunderstorms: there is no swimming during thunderstorms, the session will be rescheduled. Poor water quality: especially after periods of heavy rain, the rockpools can be polluted. You can check the status of the water quality at https://www.environment.nsw.gov.au/beachapp/OceanBulletin.aspx?NoMobile. We will only swim if the indicators are green. Even when the indicators are green, it can sometimes happen that upon visual inspection at the start of the swim session the rockpool looks dirty. If this is the case and you don’t feel comfortable to swim, we can reschedule the session.
